The UPF-CIDOB Research Seminar: “Migrations and Borders in European Union” will took place at CIDOB Foundation on September 10 in 2009.
The seminar’s goal is tackling both the institutional and the normative aspects of EU and member states on Migration and Border policies and to open a wide scientific, political and social debate on the interplay between Migrations and Borders in different Member States. The Seminar is interested in promoting a research framework which examines the interplay between the policy answers to migratory systems in Europe, on the one hand, and the emergence of a definition of EU external border on the other hand. The specific aim is to explore how the analysis of migration can contribute to EU bordering processes. The exchange and production of ideas in the Seminar will help to foster a Global European approach.
Applications: All those interested should send their proposals to migraciones@cidob.org, (with CC to gritim@upf.edu) specifying SEMINAR CIDOB-GRITIM 2009 in the ‘subject’. Proposals will be accepted in English.
